Privacy Policy
Last updated [[EFFECTIVE_DATE]]
This policy explains what the WhatWorks mobile app and this website collect, why, and what we do with it. WhatWorks is operated by [[LEGAL_NAME]], [[BUSINESS_ADDRESS]].
1. What we collect
- Your mobile number. Required. It is how you sign in and how other people assign work to you.
- Profile details you enter. Name, and optionally email, organisation, designation and a profile photo.
- Your work content. Tasks, enquiries, messages, status changes, follow-up dates and attachments you create or receive.
- A push notification token for each device, so we can alert you about new messages.
- Payment records. When you buy Premium we store the plan, duration, amount, tax, our order and payment reference numbers, and the invoice number.
- Diagnostics you choose to send. If you use "Report a Bug", the email includes your app version, device OS version and account ID so we can reproduce the problem. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
2. Your contacts stay on your phone
The app asks for contacts permission so it can show your contacts' names instead of bare phone numbers, and so you can pick someone to assign work to. Your address book is not uploaded to our servers. It is read on your device only.
The only contact information that leaves your phone is the phone number of a person you actually assign work to — which is necessary for them to receive it — and any contact you deliberately share into a chat.
3. What we do not collect
- Your call logs or SMS messages.
- Your location.
- Your card, UPI or bank details — see section 5.
- Your contact list, as explained above.
4. Attachments
Files you send are kept on your own device, which is why they open instantly and work offline. A copy passes through our cloud storage to reach the other person, and that server copy is automatically deleted once it has been delivered and read, or after a retention period based on your plan. Deleting our copy does not delete the copy on your phone.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by our payment provider, Razorpay. Your card, UPI or netbanking details are entered on their systems and are never sent to or stored by us. We receive only the outcome of the payment and the reference numbers needed to issue your invoice and activate your plan.
6. Who else can see your data
- People on the same task. Whoever created a task and whoever it is assigned to can see it and its chat. Nobody else can.
- Google Firebase — provides our sign-in, database, file storage and push notifications.
- Razorpay — processes payments.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
7. How long we keep it
Your account and work content are kept while your account exists. Chat messages and attachments on our servers are cleaned up automatically after delivery as described in section 4. Payment and invoice records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even if you delete your account.
8. Deleting your account
Email support@whatworks.pro from the address on your profile, or contact us with the mobile number on the account, and we will delete your account and content. Content that another person also has a copy of — for example a task they created and assigned to you — remains theirs.
9. Security
Sign-in is by one-time password to your mobile number, so there is no password to leak. Data in transit is encrypted. Access to each task is enforced on our servers, not just in the app. You can also set a PIN lock in the app so the app cannot be opened on your unlocked phone.
10. Children
WhatWorks is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
